Job Title : Propane Service and Installation Technician

Position Summary
The Propane Installation Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently installing, maintaining, and servicing propane systems and related equipment for residential, commercial, and agricultural customers. This includes setting tanks, running gas lines, performing system tests, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Install, inspect, and maintain propane tanks, regulators, piping systems, and appliances.
Set above ground and underground propane tanks in accordance with company standards and local, state, and federal codes (e.g., NFPA 54 & 58).
Conduct leak tests, pressure checks, and system safety inspections.
Install and connect propane appliances such as furnaces, water heaters, generators, and fireplaces.
Install and connect wireless tank monitors.
Perform cathodic testing on underground propane tanks.
Install new cathodic protection bags when necessary.
Perform service calls, troubleshoot system issues, and complete repairs as needed.
Ensure proper documentation of all work performed using company systems or service software.
Safely operate company vehicles and equipment, follow all safety policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with customers and provide education about propane safety and system operation.
Assist with propane deliveries or other operational tasks as needed.

Qualifications
Required :
High school diploma or GED.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record; CDL with HazMat endorsement preferred or ability to obtain.
Previous experience in propane, HVAC, plumbing, or related trades.
Working knowledge of propane systems, regulators, and piping installation standards.
Ability to lift 75+ lbs., work outdoors in varying conditions, and handle physical labor.
Strong attention to safety and detail.
Preferred :
CETP certification (e.g., Basic Principles & Practices, Appliance Installation, Bobtail Delivery).
Gasfitter or HVAC license (where applicable).
Experience with underground tank installation and trenching equipment.

Work Environment
Primarily field-based; outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Frequent lifting, bending, and use of hand / power tools.
Occasional overtime, weekends, or on-call duties may be required.
