We're looking for a hands-on, inventive engineer who's passionate about exploring how large models (LLMs) can assist with structuring, aligning, and reasoning over complex systems data. In this role, you'll experiment with LLMs to interpret and organize technical information – such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system models – into deterministic, machine-readable formats. You'll work at the intersection of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and applied AI, developing software tools and workflows that help humans and machines understand each other more effectively.
Core Responsibilities
Qualifications
At Skayl, we make systems talk. Our technology connects the complex – from defense to aerospace to mission-critical operations – enabling organizations to share data seamlessly and securely. When the stakes are high, we ensure the right information gets where it needs to go, every time.
We're a team of engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers who thrive on challenge. We build tools that make interoperability simple, predictable, and scalable – transforming how systems and people work together. At Skayl, you won't be lost in a massive hierarchy. You'll be part of a small, agile team where your ideas matter, experimentation is encouraged, and technical curiosity is celebrated.
Our work sits at the intersection of software engineering, systems integration, and model-based software engineering – helping modernize the digital backbone of defense and other real-time, high-consequence environments. If you love diving deep into complex technical problems, breaking barriers between systems, and delivering elegant, reliable solutions that make a tangible impact, you'll feel right at home here.
We offer flexibility, autonomy, and a mission-driven environment where innovation isn't just supported – it's expected.
