Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Senior Business Intelligence Engineer :

  • Develops and maintains robust T-SQL queries.
  • Designs scalable data models to support business intelligence and analytics requirements.
  • Utilizes Power Platforms (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) to create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Performs data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business performance improvements.
  • Presents findings and recommendations to leadership in a clear and concise manner.
  • Mentors junior team members and provide technical guidance and support as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of healthcare related Data Analytics experience.
  • 5+ years of technical experience in SQL with advanced experience in T-SQL.
  • Advanced skills in the development of interactive reports using Power BI, Qlik, Tableau and / or similar product.
  • Current or previous Cloud experience (i.e. AWS or Data Bricks).
  • Intermediate skills in Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Advanced data analytics skills and reporting experience to include working with large complex data sets within large organizations.
  • Experience working with Claims, Billing and Reconciliation or related healthcare data.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, Access, and / or PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership.
  • Proven experience with consulting with and building relationships with business partners.
  • Critical thinker who can anticipate team needs and take initiative to present ideas, ask the right questions and deliver the highest quality work.
  • Self-starter that can work independently with minimal direction and takes ownership and anticipates future consequences and trends accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Analytics, Computer Science, finance, Statistics, Economics or related field.
  • Prior or recent experience in conducting forecasting or trend analysis.
  • Process Improvement methodology experience or Agile methodology experience.
  • Process documentation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience.
  • Preference given to candidates who currently reside within reasonable commutable distance to Louisville, KY.

    Travel Required

    While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

    $89,000 - $121,400 per year
