Overview :Roots Rehab is a pediatric occupational therapy clinic that believes in nurturing the whole child by supporting their sensory, emotional, and developmental needs through compassionate, evidence-based care. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of the children we serve.
- Core Responsibilities :
- Deliver high-quality, client-centered OT treatment sessions under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
- Implement individualized treatment plans using play-based, sensory-integrative, and developmentally appropriate approaches.
- Provide services in a variety of settings including clinic, home, and community environments when applicable.
- Support children in developing skills related to self-regulation, sensory processing, fine / gross motor coordination, executive functioning, and activities of daily living.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions and collaboration on progress notes in accordance with clinic standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervising OT, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care and support family-centered goals.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment by participating in team meetings, continuing education opportunities, and clinic-wide initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and engaging therapy space that reflects our values of creativity, respect, and inclusion.
- Preferred Experience and Qualifications :
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a COTA in the state of Montana.
- CPR certified (or willing to obtain upon hire).
- 1+ years of pediatric experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong understanding of sensory integration, child development, and therapeutic use of play.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for working with children and families.
- Commitment to trauma-informed care and willingness to learn and grow in line with Roots Rehabs mission.
