Summary :
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a competent healthcare professional who practices both independently and collaboratively in a clinical setting. This role involves providing a wide range of routine and complex care while developing long-term goals for patient recovery. The RN excels in managing various clinical contingencies and effectively delegates tasks to ensure optimal patient care.
Responsibilities :
- Exhibits core competencies as a Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders, in line with OneCHRISTUS expectations.
- Delivers nursing care based on the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, employing the nursing process : assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Addresses the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, adjusting approaches as necessary.
- Administers medications and treatments according to established protocols; carefully monitors for side effects and effectiveness.
- Maintains thorough documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and provided care.
- Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers, identifying relevant issues and resources.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills :
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.Experience :
Preferred one year of experience in a related nursing specialty.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :
BLS certification required.Current RN License in the state of employment or compact required.Position Requirements :
All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days.New hires are paired with a designated preceptor to validate onboarding requirements through competency assessments.Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or specific orientation.Completion of annual competency verification is mandatory.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :
Current ACLS certification required.All Associates must obtain required certifications within designated time frames according to the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy.
