About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 1.5 years preferred, with some level 1 or level 2 experience

License : Any state RN license accepted, temporary license available upon offer

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Pass online EKG / tele competency assessment prior to assignment
• Experience in large hospital level 1 or level 2 preferred
• Available to float to all stepdown / advanced care units
• Able to work every other weekend and holiday

Description :

This position requires participating in a team nursing model.

RNs, LPNs, and PCTs will partner together to care for a group of patients.

The goal of this model is to improve both the workload and patient care.

Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on the unit's needs.

A patient ratio of 1 : 4 is targeted but may increase to 1 : 5-6.

No more than 7 days of requested time off will be approved.

Current assignment includes floating to all stepdown and advanced care units.

The unit specializes in an observation model, with an expected length of stay of less than 24 hours.

Common patient populations include :

This unit handles a heavy cardiac population and incorporates various competencies in nursing roles.

Interdisciplinary support is available from IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.

Nurses will undergo fit testing for respiratory protection prior to working in specialty areas.
