Patient Care Technician

CNA Position At Memorial Hospital Of Carbondale

Position Summary : Responsible for assisting with professional nursing care for SIH patients.

Education : High School diploma or equivalent

Licenses and Certification : Completion of Illinois approved CNA training program and passed a written competency test or has successfully completed a nursing arts course (E.g., Basis in Nursing, Fundamentals in Nursing, Nursing 101, etc) BLS

Experience and Skills : Technical Experience : NA

Role Specific Responsibilities :

• Assists nursing staff with patient care activities such as but not limited to obtaining patients vital signs, intake and output, bathing, feeding, toileting etc.
• Assists in medical emergencies, including CPR
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record
• Timely communication of changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse and / or Licensed Practical Nurse
• Timely completion of delegated tasks from Registered Nurse
• Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service personnel
• Timely completion of required education and competencies
• Cross train to telemetry tech if applicable to department needs

Compensation (Commensurate with experience) : $18.28 - $27.42
