Responsibilities Work in a stepdown cardiac (SD / PCU) unit within a hospital setting Care for patients with heart failure, chest pain rule-out, NSTEMI, post-procedure, COPD exacerbation, and substance overdose or withdrawal Patient ratios are typically 1 : 5-6 Daily average census is 31 patients Position requires use of Epic EMR Run IV drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, insulin 12-hour day shifts (4x12), 7 : 00 – 19 : 30 Required to work every other weekend and holiday Traveler may float within hospital campuses and specialty clusters, including main, south, and north campuses (within 15 miles) Traveler will be first to float at facility discretion Responsibilities include managing advanced cardiac patients, administering IV drips, and performing tele monitoring Navy blue scrubs required Initial time-off (RTO) requests must be submitted with application and will be approved at manager discretion No additional RTO will be added after offer Expect float assignments as needed to support hospital staffing First-time travelers will be considered Requirements Active OH RN license or compact RN license required Minimum 1.5 years of SD / PCU experience required; ICU experience not accepted for this unit Experience with a 1 : 5 ratio in SD / PCU setting must be documented in work history Experience using Epic EMR required Must pass online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to start Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred Ability to read and interpret EKG strips Proficient with IV starts Travel nursing experience preferred Must be able to be fitted for N95 or use PAPR as needed Locals within 50 miles are not eligible Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-640112.
