The opportunity involves supporting the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) program. The role will contribute to the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) and Hardware / Software Asset Management (HSAM) project by creating clear, concise, and accurate documentation and communications for implementation, maintenance, and usage. This includes end-user guides, internal documentation, process documentation, and proactive updates to a diverse audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Documentation Development : Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the CMDB and HSAM systems, including user guides for various user roles, administrator guides for configuration and maintenance, process documentation, knowledge base articles, API documentation (if applicable), and training materials. Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with system functionality.
- Standards and Lifecycle : Adhere to established documentation standards and style guides; manage the documentation lifecycle, including version control and archiving.
- Collaboration : Work with subject matter experts to gather information and validate content.
- Communication and Outreach : Develop and execute a communication plan to keep stakeholders informed about the CMDB and HSAM project; draft and distribute project updates, release notes, system outage notifications, tips, and tricks; draft and review project emails, newsletters, and internal blog posts; present information effectively in written and verbal formats; manage communication channels.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management : Partner with the CMDB and HSAM project team including engineers, system administrators, and business analysts; build relationships across the organization; gather feedback on documentation and communication effectiveness; participate in project meetings and provide updates.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, stay current with industry best practices, contribute to standards and style guides, and evaluate new tools to enhance documentation and communication efforts.
Qualifications
Required : Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance15+ years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience)5+ years of experience as a technical writer in an IT environmentExperience documenting CMDB and / or asset management systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera) is highly desirableProven ability to create clear, concise, and accurate documentation for technical and non-technical audiencesExperience developing and executing communication plansExcellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail; ability to work independently and in a teamProficiency in documentation tools; understanding of ITIL principles and asset management best practicesAbility to quickly learn and understand complex technical conceptsExperience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) is a plusExperience with screen capture and image editing software (e.g., Snagit, Adobe Photoshop) is a plusWhat You Can Expect

Pay and Benefits
The proposed salary range for this position is $73,800-$155,100 . The range reflects factors such as location, experience, skills, education, and certifications. CACI provides competitive compensation, benefits, and learning opportunities, including healthcare, retirement, and time off. The range shown is national for the position in cases where multiple locations apply.
