Description :
The unit has a total of 2 triage rooms and 10 labor rooms.
There are 2 operating rooms available for use.
The team consists of 22 full-time staff, 16 PRN staff, and 17 clinical staff.
Staffing on the day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 6 RNs, 1 scrub tech, and 1 secretary.
On the night shift, the team consists of 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 5 RNs, 1 scrub tech, and 1 secretary.
Patient ratios may vary, typically 1 : 1 or 2 : 1, depending on acuity.
Key equipment utilized includes fetal monitors, IUPC, FSE, fluid warmers, IV pumps, and epidural pumps.
The electronic medical record systems used are CPN and Meditech.
Typical procedures performed in the unit include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, amniocentesis, amnioinfusions, and IUPC / FSE placements.
The ideal candidate will be organized, possess great time management skills, and demonstrate empathy, care, and compassion in patient interactions.
Weekend rotation every other weekend may be required.
There may be possible on-call duties for circulators.
