About the Facility :
Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to establish a new production facility in Greenville County, South Carolina. This 1 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art plant—set on over 200 acres—will feature a flexible production line capable of manufacturing both internal combustion and electric vehicles. Production will include the N-Series Gas, N-Series Electric, and F-Series Diesel trucks. Operations are expected to launch in 2027, with expansion slated for 2028. Strategically located near I-85, I-26, and the Port of Charleston, the site supports streamlined logistics and consolidated operations under one roof. This initiative is projected to create over 700 new jobs in the area.
Job Summary :
The Production Control Manager ensures that production schedules, kitting operations, and material flows are executed with precision to meet customer and business requirements. This role oversees the planning and coordination of parts and materials to production lines, safeguards schedule adherence, and drives resolution of disruptions or delays. By monitoring inventory performance, leading process improvements, and establishing key performance metrics, the manager supports operational efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement across production and supply chain functions.
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
- Develop, maintain, and optimize production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and business objectives
- Oversee picking and kitting operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of parts and materials to production lines
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain to maintain material availability and flow
- Identify risks to schedule adherence and implement solutions to resolve disruptions or delays
- Collaborate with production, logistics, and supplier teams to support operational efficiency and cost control
- Lead process improvements in scheduling, kitting, and material control functions to strengthen performance and accuracy
- Provide leadership and direction to staff engaged in scheduling, kitting, and materials coordination, ensuring accountability, development, and effective execution of responsibilities.
- Support strategic planning for new product launches, production changes and business initiatives by aligning scheduling and materials requirements with long-term objectives.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for production control and material flow
- Prepare clear reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership on scheduling and materials performance
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in all production control activities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Education, Training & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience in supply chain, operations, or a related fieldMinimum 5 years related work experience in production control, scheduling, or material management (manufacturing environment preferred)Minimum 3 years supervisory / managerial experienceRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :
Strong knowledge of production control methods, scheduling systems, and kitting operations within an automotive manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of material planning, inventory control, and supply chain coordination processesFamiliarity with ERP / MRP systems (SAP preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and communication platformsKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., TPS, Kaizen, 5S)Experience in developing, tracking, and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheduling, material flow, and inventory accuracySkilled in problem-solving and root cause analysis to resolve material shortages, production delays, or scheduling conflictsStrong leadership, team development, and cross-functional communication skills to drive collaboration between production, logistics, and supply chain teamsAbility to prepare and deliver clear reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership reviewUnderstanding of safety and quality standards in automotive production operations (e.g., OSHA, ISO9001)Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational support in a fast-paced production environment
