One of the largest privately owned Auto Dealership Groups in the country seeks an experienced PROJECT ARCHITECT - OWNERS REPRESENTATIVE The Project Architect will have overall responsibility for planning and executing the design and construction of multiple projects assigned to them. This person will provide leadership and direction to the Project Engineers & Architects, consultants, vendors and General Contractor to deliver a quality project within the agreed schedule and budget. The Project Architect will report directly to the Construction Director and other stakeholders and provide regular progress updates and reporting.
The ideal candidate for this position is one who is looking to take ownership of their projects from concept sketch to completion while working in a fast-paced collaborative environment. Our diverse range of projects include renovations, expansions and ground up construction across numerous states.
Essential Functions :
- Develop initial concept site plans and floor plans while ensuring compliance with OEM brand standards as well as owner standards
- Compose and issue design team and consultant RFP’s. Qualify, award, engage and manage consultants through entirety of the design process
- Coordinate design and schedule with requirements of owner vendor equipment and installations
- Oversee awarded AE team to ensure project compliance with OEM brand standards as well as owner standards
- Ensure all contracts are received, qualified internally, and executed promptly including any insurance certificates and bonds.
- Strives for work efficiency with consultants, GC and owner vendors
- Prepare and facilitate design coordination meetings / calls in addition to owner vendor pre-construction meetings.
- Meet regularly with stakeholders to provide project updates
- Review and coordinate RFI’s, submittals, shop drawings, etc. with project team to ensure compliance with internal standards as well as OEM requirements and contract documents
- Review and process consultant and vendor invoices as well as GC pay applications to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms as well as compliance with payment schedules
- Review consultant add services and GC change requests for conformance with contract documents as well as accuracy. Prepare supporting documentation prior to submitting to stake holders
- Manages issues with consultants, owner vendors and GC’s to closure
- Coordinates project with internal departments including interior design, legal, advertising, accounting, etc

Essential Functions :
Minimum of 4 years of related project management experience, retail experience preferred, automotive experience ideal.Prior experience in successfully designing and building projects similar in size and complexity (Ground Up +40,000SF & +$10M).Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and outside service providersIndependent decision making, problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skillsStrong ability to coordinate numerous projects simultaneously, think strategically, execute, effectively prioritize and demonstrate good judgementExperience working with national retail brands or franchisesMust possess superior verbal and written communication skillsMust be detail oriented and capable of reading and understanding a full set of construction documents including civil and MEP.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications as well as Bluebeam, Procore, and AutoCADMust demonstrate a professional appearance and work ethicMust be willing to travel ~ amount of travel will fluctuate depending on projectsEducation :
