We are seeking a skilled bookkeeper to join our accounting team for our busy construction company. The ideal candidate will have accounting experience and possess a strong understanding of financial and bookkeeping concepts, have experience with accounting software, and be able to provide excellent customer service. Knowledge of the construction industry is helpful, but not required. This position will be part of our accounting team and will report to the company's CFO. - Processing accounts payable and managing cash needs
- Processing payroll and payroll-related expenses
- Preparing payroll reports to maintain compliance with state and federal agencies
- Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Processing accounts receivable and ensuring timely deposits
- Preparing bank reconciliations
- Managing fleet vehicle records
- Perform data entry and maintain electronic and paper records
- Assist the Project Manager in creating construction drawings
- Assist the Project Manager in the creation and maintenance of project budgets and purchase orders
- Ensure all necessary lien waivers are received and processed with each draw
- Ensure notices are filed on the State Construction Registry
- Ensure all trade insurance certificates and licenses are current
- Coordinate with the Company President on annual insurance renewals Qualifications :
- Familiar with accounting principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office software
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
- Ability to learn new processes and computer programs quickly Compensation : $17 - $25 hourly
