BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / TRAINING :
- Licensed Practical Nurse currently licensed by the State of New Jersey
- CPR Certification

Administer meds, including some injections, monitoring resident responseChange bandages and dressingsAssist residents who need assistance with eating and drinkingMay make rounds with physicians and assist them in examining and treating residentsFollow established policies and procedures and accepted standardsMaintain adequate, accurate recordsOversee CNAs and provide them with appropriate tasksTake instructions from report and give updates to RN and overseeing MDReport any unusual or drastic changes in resident behavior / symptoms; seek help from superiors when neededUse appropriate and safe body technique when lifting and / or transferring residents or suppliesOperate equipment required for resident careUse mechanical equipment and assistive devices for patient handling tasks as identified, according to the individual resident Care Plan and the Safe Patient Handling Act.Attend scheduled meetings and continuing education programs to keep abreast of current trends in medical scienceUnderstand and apply basic principles of safetyParticipate in the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Program (QAPI)o Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work
o Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned
