Role Overview :
The Highway Seasonal Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing general highway maintenance duties that keep INDOT assets in good working condition to ensure customer satisfaction. This includes but is not limited to fleet, facilities, bridges, culverts, roadway, and right-of-way maintenance activities.
Salary :
This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $ an hour. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.
Location :
This position is located in INDOT’s Indianapolis area.
A Day in the Life :
The essential elements of the job duties :
- Complies with INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Operates basic highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain, repair, and clean highways and rights-of-way.
- Moves and loads supplies and materials.
- Performs emergency response activities such as : clean-up, traffic control, lane closures, placement of signs, and erecting barricades.
- Performs equipment maintenance such as : minor repairs, preventative maintenance, refueling, and pre-trip inspections.
- Performs miscellaneous labor tasks.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana :
This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
