Facilities Manager / Security Officer (SkillBridge Intern) - 211

All-Domain Operations Internship

This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD Skillbridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership.

Objective

The intern will train as a Facilities Manager / Security Officer within HII Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated HII supervisor, with the goal of learning Facilities Management and Industrial Security principles, technologies, and core functions, as well as the roles and responsibilities of working as a Facilities Manager / Security Officer on a corporate team. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.

Desired End State (3-month Target)

At the end of 2 months, the intern will be able to describe core functions of Facilities Management and Industrial Security, gain hands-on experience in applying the skills and knowledge learned in the military to the corporate-world problems and projects.

• Develop professional competencies such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and ethics.
• Build a network of contacts and mentors within HII Mission Technologies and explore potential career paths and opportunities.
• Receive constructive feedback and guidance from supervisors and peers and improve personal and professional performance.
• Demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, and commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and values.
• HII Mission Technologies will benefit from the military background of the Skillbridge intern and considers the Skillbridge internship an overall positive experience.

Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service. Education and Experience dependent on Program of Instruction.
