Overview

The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform has thousands of students looking for online AP English Literature and Composition tutors nationally. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—all from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring in AP English Literature and Composition.
Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
Be matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
Tutor remotely using the Live Learning Platform.
Use the Tutor Copilot features to support instruction and engagement where available.
Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments and logistics.

Compensation and Benefits

Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40 / hour with repeating sessions from the same student.

Get paid up to twice per week, for tutoring sessions conducted and invoiced.

Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.

Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition with the ability to explain concepts clearly.

Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.

Preference given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.
