Transportation Engineer
This position provides high-level programmatic oversight for the City's comprehensive transportation system. This includes technical transportation engineering review, analysis and design, and project and program management, including community engagement.
Job duties and responsibilities include preparing special transportation engineering studies and reports, working collaboratively with neighborhoods and community groups to determine transportation solutions, providing high-level and responsive customer service on sensitive traffic problems and neighborhood concerns, and administering and reviewing outside consultant contracts for design and project development.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, a Professional Engineering License in the state of Florida within one year of hire, seven years of progressive experience in the planning, design, and construction of public sector projects, including at least three years with specific transportation planning and / or traffic engineering experience. A valid Florida Driver's License is also required.
