About the Role
The Company is seeking a visionary Vice President of Software Engineering to lead and enhance its distributed engineering organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the performance and delivery of a large, distributed software engineering team, developing key performance metrics, and mentoring a team of Directors. This role requires a strategic leader who can ensure the continuous improvement of engineering processes, outputs, and organizational growth. The VP will also be tasked with collaborating across various teams to align engineering goals with business objectives, defining and executing engineering strategies, and advocating for modern engineering practices.
Candidates for the VP of Software Engineering position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a VP or Head of Engineering role. The role demands a proven ability to lead and scale remote engineering teams, expertise in tracking and improving developer performance metrics, and exceptional skills in mentoring and developing leadership talent. Strong operational and administrative capabilities, experience in translating business strategies into technical objectives, and a successful track record in recruiting and retaining senior engineering professionals are essential. Familiarity with modern backend architectures, microservices, event-driven systems, and CI / CD practices is a plus. The ideal candidate will be adept at fostering a high-trust, high-performance culture within a fully remote engineering environment.
