Job Description
Overview :
The Civil Sitework Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for a variety of large-scale civil, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects. This role requires deep technical understanding of earthwork, utilities, grading, drainage, and structural sitework, as well as the ability to analyze plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to produce precise takeoffs and cost breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities :

- \tPerform detailed quantity takeoffs using advanced estimating software (e.g., Attach, Agtek, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, or similar).
\t
\tAnalyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to determine scope, cost impacts, and risk factors.\t
\tDevelop and maintain accurate cost estimates, budgets, and bid summaries for all phases of sitework projects.\t
\tBuild comprehensive breakdowns for labor, equipment, materials, fuel, subcontractors, and overhead.\t
\tEvaluate soil correction reports, compaction requirements, and geotechnical data to anticipate potential challenges and adjust bids accordingly.\t
\tPrepare and present bid proposals and supporting documentation in alignment with company standards.\t
\tCollaborate with project managers and field operations teams to ensure estimates reflect real-world production capabilities.\t
\tSolicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing, ensuring competitive and compliant proposals.\t
\tMaintain current knowledge of market conditions, material pricing, and industry standards.\t
\tParticipate in value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize project cost and schedule performance.Qualifications : \t
\tMinimum 3–5 years of experience in estimating for civil construction, site development, or heavy civil projects.\t
\tStrong understanding of grading, utilities, drainage, and earthwork processes.\t
\tProficiency in estimating and takeoff software such as Attach, Agtek, Bluebeam, or HeavyBid.\t
\tFamiliarity with renewable energy sitework, including solar or wind project grading and pile-driving layouts, is preferred.\t
\tAbility to interpret and apply geotechnical reports, specifications, and engineering drawings.\t
\tStrong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.\t
\tAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.\t
\tExcellent communication and teamwork abilities.Preferred Skills : \t

\tFamiliarity with production tracking systems and cost-to-complete forecasting.\t
\tKnowledge of OSHA and safety requirements for heavy civil operations.\t\tExperience collaborating with EPC contractors and developers in large-scale renewable projects.
