Job Description
We're looking for a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. If you're confident in your abilities, passionate about patient care, and ready to grow within a supportive environment, we want to hear from you.
About the Role :
As an Experienced Veterinary Assistant, you'll be a vital part of our medical team, supporting veterinarians and technicians in delivering top-quality care to patients with a wide range of needs. Your day will include a mix of clinical tasks, client communication, and patient handling.
Primary responsibilities include :
- Safely and effectively restraining pets using low-stress techniques
- Triage and intake of incoming patients
- Collecting and processing lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.)
- Assisting with radiographs and diagnostic imaging
- Administering medications and monitoring patients
- Supporting nursing care for hospitalized and medical cases
- Preparing patients and instruments for surgery; assisting in procedures
- Monitoring patients under anesthesia
- Communicating treatment plans and updates to clients with compassion and clarity
- Must be comfortable with exposure to strong odors, loud noises, animal waste, bites, scratches, and potentially contagious conditions
Qualifications
We're looking for :
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant (required)Confidence in restraint, lab work, and assisting with proceduresWeekend availability (some shifts)Excellent communication and customer service skillsStrong multitasking ability and attention to detailFamiliarity with preventative care, surgical support, and clinic flowBonus : Proficient in lab processing, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoringA team-player mentality and willingness to support wherever neededA self-starter attitude with a desire to keep learning and growingReceptiveness to constructive feedback and dedication to continuous improvementAdditional Information
