Provide implementation services for children who require the specialized services of a Speech and Language Pathologist. The Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for exploring the following areas in each area of service :
- Identifies needs of students; develops action plans based on identified needs; evaluates ongoing programs / plans; implements ongoing programs, activities and revises activities as needed; advises school personnel regarding available resources.
- Presents information about the services offered to students, school personnel, parents; assists parents and students with individual needs to secure available services; creates a positive climate during consultation; serves on multidisciplinary teams.
- Delivers services to students to improve skills / functional abilities; demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents and educational staff; assists teachers and students in implementing plans / strategies; involves students in setting objectives; uses a systematic process to assess needs plan intervention and evaluate outcomes.
