Job description

What You Can Expect

As our High Voltage Shop Intern, at The Ohio State University, you will be responsible for supporting multiple aspects of the campus’ high voltage distribution and maintenance as well as electrical reliability of campus chill water and steam plants.

You can also expect to document and update campus HV system drawings and develop an organized repository for existing and future drawings. The internship work term will be January 5, 2026 - May 29, 2026, part-time 10-15 hours per week minimum. Additional hours / weeks may be available based on business needs and will be discussed in advance with supervisor.

You will :

You will organize and prioritize work and handle multiple tasks, and be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally

You will report to the High Voltage Operations and Maintenance Manager.

What You’ll Bring

A Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Junior or Senior, at The Ohio State University

Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly word processing, spreadsheets and database programs

Additional Details

This role requires attendance at a works site on a daily basis

Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license

Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Work environment includes a blend of indoor office setting and some outdoor site visits and walk throughs during construction phase

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to weather conditions

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Ability to meet highest attendance requirements

Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

Compensation

Hourly Range : $25.00 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
