Sonographer

Cedar Park Med is seeking to hire Sonographer - Ultrasound / Vascular Technologist for an immediate opening.

Shifts / Days : 4-10s F-M 10am - 8.30pm

Duties

• Scans and recognize sonographic normal / abnormal tissues, structures and blood flow; adjusts canning technique to optimize image quality.
• Performs measurement and calculations according to laboratory protocol. Uses independent medical records regarding patient's medical history.
• Evaluates contra-indications to the procedure. Explains procedure to patient and answers any questions and / or concerns.
• Administers first aid, or provides life support in emergency situations, as required by employer policy. Upon assessment of exam findings, recognizes the need for an urgent rather than a routine report and takes appropriate action.
• Provides written / oral summary of preliminary findings to the Radiologist.
• Responsible for independent operation of sonographic equipment and daily operations, patient schedules, daily routine equipment maintenance and the report of equipment failures.
• Coordinates work schedule with supervisor to ensure workload / shift coverage.
• Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patient while in the sonographer's care.
• Completes exam tracking and charging.
• Maintains work area and monitoring of adequate supplies with attention to par levels. Performs basic patient care tasks as needed.
• Coordinates with other hospital staff to ensure appropriate patient care is provided. Performs related clerical duties as needed.
