General Services - Maintenance

SUMMARY

Performs a variety of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance functions in an institutional environment. T hese functions may include both preventative and repair services, requiring carpentry, automotive, masonry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, locksmith, and mechanical knowledge. These tasks willbe accomplished in a correctional institutionand may require the ability to work independently and without direct supervision .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Constant regard mustbemaintained in following all security andsafety protocols. Themaintenance person within the correctional facility must comply with all rules and regulations.
• Theabilitytoworkinclose proximitytoinmatesisrequired .
• The maintenance person musteffectively diagnose maintenance issues andconsider the appropriate course of action or alternative courses of action if applicable .
• The maintenance person must work well under pressure, have the ability to adapt to changing conditions and circumstances, and demonstrate a high level of initiative.
• The maintenance person must maintain an appropriate awareness of cost control and proper utilization of resources.
• Theabilitytoeffectivelyprioritizetasksandmakesound decisions .
