Job description

Republic Airways Internship Program

Republic Airways, based in Indianapolis, is growing to a fleet of over 220 Embraer 170 / 175 aircraft and offers scheduled passenger service with about 1,000 daily flights to 100 cities in 40 U.S. states, Canada, the Caribbean and Central America. The airline provides fixed-fee flights operated under its major airline partner brands of American Eagle, Delta Connection and United Express. Our business strategy was developed by an experienced team of senior airline executives and incorporates sound business strategies and insights for the development and management of airlines operating throughout the United States. Republic Airways is proud to offer an internship program that prepares students for the workforce. While we provide resources to help interns sharpen skills and make meaningful contributions in their department, we also provide the following during the internships :

Essential Duties

  • Regularly measure and analyze, highlighted areas of strength and opportunity; identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assists culture and engagement subject matter experts by contributing perspective, insights, and knowledge.
  • Recognize and respond to business / team member needs by providing tailored strategies and solutions to enable appropriate cultural awareness and change.
  • Represent the organization in culture and engagement strategy efforts, ensuring awareness, involvement, and contributions as appropriate.
  • Facilitate in planning Business Resource Group (BRG) events both onsite and in the community.
  • Liaise with Corporate Partners on cultural events during affinity months.
  • Maintain DEI SharePoint page, calendar, and BRG pages with events, blog posts, Associate spotlights etc.
  • Design digital and printable materials to advertise BRG and engagement events in collaboration with marketing department
  • Assist with and maintain Business Resource Group collateral, organizing for events, communicating with vendor etc.
  • Assist with writing and editing for internal communications, including newsletter highlights and blog posts.
  • Assist with research, planning, writing and development of new ideas for social content calendar and requested publications.
  • Attend Republic events and produce event summaries as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to both Republic Airways and LIFT Academy brands in all written materials.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

  • Education and / or Experience

  • Pursuing an associate's degree (A.A / A.S.) or bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Communications, Marketing, Public Policy, Business Administration, Operations or related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Familiar with Canva Visual Suite.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Other Qualifications

  • Ability to work onsite at our Indianapolis Headquarters location, unless otherwise directed by hiring manager.
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week with a minimum of 20 hours for spring and fall interns.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Language Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.

    Reasoning / Problem Solving Ability

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Able to read and interpret technical, regulatory and contractual documentation. Able to maintain confidentiality.

    Decision Making

    Makes day to day decisions used to support strategic direction. Decisions often require some thought without established precedents or procedures. Decisions tend to be short term and usually of moderate cost. Able to work independently or as part of a team to drive results.
