Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is proud to announce the development of a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program , set to launch in July 2026. We are seeking an experienced Program Director to lead the ACGME application process and shape the future of Emergency Medicine training on Florida s West Coast.

This is an excellent opportunity to build a high-quality academic program in a thriving community. The program will be based at a 190-bed community hospital known for its consistent excellence in CMS quality metrics, patient safety, and satisfaction.

The ideal program director candidate will be passionate about resident education. The position will include direct patient care in our Emergency Department and require the skills for collaborative leadership, clinical education, excellence in administration, interpersonal communication skills, operations, and organization in a supportive training environment.

About the Opportunity :

We are looking for a collaborative clinician-educator with a passion for resident training and a minimum of three years of leadership experience in GME. The Program Director role will initially begin as a consulting position and transition to a .5 FTE leadership role, with the remaining time spent in clinical Emergency Medicine practice .
