Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time teaching position is designed for an experienced educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. The role is itinerant, serving K-12 students across multiple locations throughout the academic year in Alexandria, VA. This contract position offers an opportunity to impact the educational experience of students with hearing impairments by providing specialized instructional support.

Key Qualifications :

  • Certification or licensure in Teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Experience working with K-12 populations in inclusive or specialized settings
  • Ability to travel between multiple school sites as an itinerant teacher
  • Strong knowledge of language development, auditory skills, and munication strategies for DHH learners
  • Effective collaboration skills for working with classroom teachers, support staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to meet individual student needs
  • Conduct assessments and monitor student progress
  • Provide consultation and support to classroom teachers and parents
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, audiologists, and other team members
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation in pliance with program guidelines
  • Location : Alexandria, VA
