Summary

As a vital member of our emergency response team, you will provide immediate medical care to individuals experiencing accidents, violence, or sudden health crises such as cardiac arrests or strokes. Your role will encompass the delivery of pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care until the patient is transferred to the accepting medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service at public service functions and events, providing standby services as necessary.
• Document comprehensive assessments and treatments in patient care charting software.
• Cater to patients in various crises by delivering appropriate medical, traumatic, and therapeutic services.
• Work alongside a partner as a two-member ambulance crew responding to both emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced medical equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators and defibrillators for life support applications.
• Evaluate injuries or illnesses to prioritize appropriate medical procedures, ensuring effective stabilization and transportation of victims.
• Follow dispatcher instructions to safely operate emergency vehicles to specified locations.
• Administer medications as directed under a physician's guidance.
• Communicate effectively with medical personnel upon arriving at treatment facilities for further instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and decontamination of the ambulance and report any infectious disease cases as required.

Physical Demands

This role requires lifting over 50 lbs, pushing / pulling up to 140 lbs, and carrying 80 lbs short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, and climbing are expected.
