Job descriptionPrior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred. Must understand ladder and controls logic Must have proficient troubleshooting skills using a variety of PLC software Must have general understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Moderate to heavy physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling. Atlas Molded Products is seeking an Automation Technician for the Byron Center, MI facility.
Automation Technician Primary Responsibilities
- Test electronic or electrical circuits and connections
- Make changes and additions to ladder logic using a variety of PLC software
- Update controls on existing equipment (may require the use of PLC)
- Use hand and power tools
- Use Multimeter and other testing devices
- Program VFD
- Document and understand control schematics
- Modify HMI displays
- Control and maintain access into PLC and other computer-controlled machinery
- Adjust or set mechanical controls or components
