Job description

TravelNurseSource is working with MedCadre to find a qualified CVICU RN in Seattle, Washington, 98110!

About The Position

Shift : Night 3x12-Hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Description :

Perm candidates of any OTHER providence facility ( NON SWEDISH ) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All Swedish facilities honor active compact license.

2.5 years of CVICU exp REQUIRED - Must have current CVICU experience within the last 6 months

Will accept first time travelers (with strong exp)

FLOAT REQUIRED

PATIENT DIAGNOSES :

Cardovascular disease, Pre / post Cath Lab and IR procedures, Fresh Open Heart Surgery

SPECIAL PROCEDURES :

CABG, OHS, AAA, Valvular Repairs

IABP, Impella, VAD's, Pacemakers, Epicardial Pacer Management

CRRT / Dialysis

Hemodynamic Monitoring

Breathing Treatments, Chest Tube Set-up / Care, CPAP / BiPap, Trach Care, Vents

High Frequency Vents, Procedure Sedation

RSI - Rapid Sequence Intubation Drugs

Blood / BloodProducts Administration

Cardioversion / Defibrillation, Colling / Warming

Obtain 12 Lead EKG

  • ECMO

Cardiac Surgical experience is REQUIRED

Unit has unseasoned staff so they need strong travelers

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT : Sheath removal

Vasopressors

Work Settings :

  • Neuro Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Intensive Care Unit (PREFERRED)
  • Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response :

  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Multi-system organ failure (REQUIRED)
  • Cardiovascular :

  • ECMO, Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation / Replacement (TAVI / TAVR) (PREFERRED)
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Post Cardiac Surgery (directly from the OR), Post Cardiac Surgery (Not directly from the OR), Pre / Post Cardiac Cath / intervention, Pulmonary Artery Line / Swan Ganz monitoring, Sheath Removal (REQUIRED)
  • Endocrine / Metabolic :

  • IV insulin protocols (REQUIRED)
  • Genitourinary / Renal :

  • CVVHD / CRRT (REQUIRED)
  • Chronic / Acute Renal failure (PREFERRED)
  • IV therapy :

  • Accessing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care / management, PICC line management, Starting IVs (REQUIRED)
  • Medications :

  • Continuous IV sedation, Procedural Sedation Administration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips (REQUIRED)
  • Neurological :

  • Hypothermia protocol / Arctic Sun (REQUIRED)
  • CVA / Acute Stroke management (PREFERRED)
  • Respiratory / Thoracic :

  • Assist with Chest Tube Insertion / Removal, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management (REQUIRED)
  • Professional Topics and Skills :

  • Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions / Use of PPE, Surgical Wounds with drains / Wound Vac (REQUIRED)
  • Phlebotomy (PREFERRED)
  • Charting : EPIC (PREFERRED)

    Balloon - Maquet Datascope preferred

    3 days orientation - validated skills for some competencies

    CERTS : ACLS, BCLS, & CRRT Prismaflex all required

    SKILLS : IABP, fresh open heart required
