About The Position

Job Title : Computed Tomography Technologist

Experience : 2 years as a Radiologic Technologist or 1 year in Computed Tomography required

License : Maryland License required

Certifications : Must have active certifications at the time of submission

Must-Have : COVID vaccine required, declinations not accepted

Description :

Under general supervision, performs all CT procedures.

Operates computed tomography and radiography equipment to obtain quality diagnostic images.

Prepares examination area and positions patient for procedures.

Adjusts imaging equipment to the correct settings for examinations done within the CT department.

Assists physicians in the performance of examinations.

Prepares patients for examinations and sets up and manipulates all computed tomography, data processing, and ancillary equipment required for procedures.

Calculates and selects proper techniques and protocols while using ALARA principles.

Ensures the safety of patients, staff, and equipment by using appropriate combinations of techniques.

Assists physicians during procedures with medical equipment and instruments, as well as the administration of contrast materials and medications.

Demonstrates ability to use sterile technique for applicable procedures.

Transfers image data to PACS and V-RAD environments for physician review and interpretation.

Maintains records and / or technical notations on each case required by regulatory agencies.

Ensures that files and records are properly completed with accurate information.

Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the work area, ensuring it is properly stocked and supplied for specific procedures.

Draws blood and introduces IVs according to established procedures.

Assists in the scheduling and flow of computed tomography examinations to ensure optimal utilization of equipment and personnel.

Demonstrates and assists in the instruction of computed tomography equipment, operation, and theory to radiologic technology students and other professionals.

Participates in the formal teaching program and in-service education programs as required.

Performs various clerical tasks, such as retrieving radiographic film records, filing films, answering phones, relaying messages, and registering and scheduling patients.
