Position Description

The School of STEM at Avila University is seeking qualified adjunct instructors for Biological Sciences. Responsibilities include :

  • Teaching lectures and labs for courses such as Introductory Biology (Cells, Genes, Ecology, Evolution, Environmental Science, Organismal Biology).
  • Conducting all class sessions as scheduled.
  • Providing instruction, activities, assignments, assessments, and feedback to meet course objectives.
  • Delivering content effectively, accommodating students with diverse abilities, backgrounds, and levels of preparation.
  • Collaborating with the program Chair and Laboratory Manager.
  • Performing other duties related to courses as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Experience with diverse populations (preferred).
  • Multilingual skills (highly preferred).
  • Ability to support a diverse student body, including first-generation college students, multilingual learners, and contributions to equity and social justice.

    Stipend varies based on credit hours and experience.
