Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant Opportunity

The physical therapist assistant will assume responsibility for providing comprehensive treatment of performance components affecting functioning and to provide goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum level of independence to clients suffering from disability, disease, or injury. The physical therapist assistant will follow established physical therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; help patients reach their maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within their capabilities. The physical therapist assistant will also direct and supervise physical therapist assistant students. The physical therapist assistant will recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke and call a stroke alert overhead. The physical therapist assistant will verbalize the stroke alert process. Consults and assessments / reassessments will be performed and documented within 24 hours of admission or when feasible once the patient is medically stable. The physical therapist assistant will maintain currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 4 hours online training.
