We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial reporting, streamlining accounting operations, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. Responsibilities :
- Prepare accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes through reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and variance analyses.
- Oversee percent-of-completion accounting for long-term contracts, ensuring proper revenue recognition and collaboration with project teams to track progress.
- Develop advanced Excel models for financial forecasting, reporting, and analytics, utilizing tools like pivot tables, macros, and data visualization.
- Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of internal controls, implementing policies to safeguard company assets and reduce financial risks.
- Identify and recommend improvements to accounting systems and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analyses to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Controller, accounting staff, and cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and optimize financial operations.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting, revenue recognition, budgeting, and process improvement.Proficiency in percent-of-completion accounting and familiarity with ASC 606 standards.Strong technical skills and experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.Advanced expertise in Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and macros.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present financial data and collaborate effectively across teams.Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage complex financial data accurately.Proven problem-solving skills with a track record of identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial reporting.
