Job Description: Controls Engineer

The Controls Engineer will develop and implement low to medium complexity control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. The role involves participating in system commissioning, managing small-scale controls projects, and resolving low-level issues within production and development control systems using predefined methods and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement control systems of low to medium complexity.
• Participate in system commissioning and ensure designs meet project requirements.
• Manage small-scale controls projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
• Identify and resolve low-level issues within production and development control systems.
• Create and refine controls system documentation, including diagrams, manuals, and reports.
• Implement simple automation and safety systems, ensuring safety standards are met.
• Assist in electrical design, PLC, and robotic programming, and HMI development.
• Use universal robots and be open to other robotic systems.

Essential Skills

• Experience in automation, HMI development, programming, and robotics.
• Proficiency in electrical and system design.
• Ability to manage projects and support functions efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering highly preferred; a 2-year degree in electrical or mechatronics engineering will be considered.
• A strong GPA and internship experience are highly preferred.
• If no degree, 5+ years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with Rockwell or Allen Bradley PLCs is a plus.
• Working knowledge of mechatronics theory is advantageous.

This is a Contract position based out of Rockford, IL.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $58.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Rockford,IL.
