Job descriptionTherapist - Physical Therapist Lewiston, ME Rotating shifts, full-time Provide comprehensive physical therapy services to patients based on physician referrals. Perform evaluative and therapeutic procedures in accordance with medical orders, observing all precautions and contraindications. Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals, modalities, and treatment frequency. Collaborate with patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team to optimize care and discharge planning. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document all interactions accurately in the electronic medical record. Educate patients and caregivers on the use of assistive devices and therapeutic exercises. Support orthopedic patients, including those undergoing joint replacement surgeries, adhering to established standards and educational requirements. Maintain licensure, certifications, and ongoing professional development through workshops, conferences, and memberships. Supervise and mentor assistant-level staff and students, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and ensure a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment. Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; Master’s or Doctorate preferred. Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Maine. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience working with orthopedic surgical patients, specifically joint replacements. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively under pressure. Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal.
