Position Summary :
We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated team player to join our organization as an Associate Benefit Administrator. In this role, you will provide vital support to multiple Senior Benefit Administrators (BA's), ensuring the smooth management of client benefit programs through our proprietary benefit enrollment system. The ideal candidate will excel at routine processes, thrive in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate a proactive approach to learning. Comprehensive training will be provided.
Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Support benefits consultants and senior administrators in servicing client accounts across a portfolio of mid-to-large sized businesses.
- Support Sr. Benefit Administrators by performing ongoing, scheduled tasks and reporting progress
- Manage manual benefit enrollments for assigned clients via applicable carrier portals
- Review and resolve carrier and client census discrepancy reports
- Verify receipt of hours reports on a scheduled basis
- Process pending life insurance elections and unverified loads in the CBIZEnroll System
- Manage and track unverified dependents and employee Evidence of Insurability (EOI), including follow-up and client updates
- Process overage dependents and Proof of Other Coverage submissions for assigned clients
- Respond professionally to employee benefit inquiries via email, providing accurate and clear information
- Attend client service calls to report on work progress and develop client relationships
- Assist with the implementation and renewal process of group benefit plans, including preparation of materials, client data collection, and coordination with insurance carriers.
- Maintain and update benefit plan records and databases to ensure data accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA).
- Respond to client and employee inquiries regarding benefits enrollment, eligibility, claims, and coverage details in a timely and professional manner.
- Help coordinate open enrollment processes, including system setup, communication distribution, and enrollment tracking.
- Conduct audits of enrollment and billing data to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and support issue resolution.
- Prepare benefit-related reports and analytics for internal teams and clients as requested.
- Assist with the preparation of compliance documents such as Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), Form 5500 filings, and nondiscrimination testing.
- Stay informed on industry trends, legislation, and best practices in employee benefits to support client compliance and satisfaction.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments such as payroll, finance, HRIS, and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Life and Health Insurance license preferred (must be obtained within first 90 days, if not already held)1-3 years of experience in employee benefits administration, preferably in a brokerage, insurance, or HR consulting environment.Basic knowledge of group insurance products and regulatory requirements (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA).Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with benefits administration platforms (e.g., Employee Navigator, Applied EPIC, Workday, ADP, bswift, or similar) is a plus.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.Minimum Qualifications
