Purchasing Agent

Clayton Services is searching for a Purchasing Agent to join a thriving company in Hempstead, Texas. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for the purchasing of raw materials and shop supplies, negotiating prices and terms with vendors, and ensuring that goods are delivered on time and without issue.

Job Type : Temp-to-hire

Pay Rate : $23.00-$28.00 / hour

Purchasing Agent Responsibilities :

• Review confirmations and order acknowledgments to ensure timely deliveries.
• Quote and procure metal & other raw materials and shop supplies.
• Define the correct buying channel for each request and choose the best supplier in terms of price, quality, and lead time.
• Review blueprints, specifications, and bill of materials to ensure all material is ordered correctly and meet customer specifications.
• Creating and releasing purchase orders.
• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and create new ones, evaluating suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability.
• Set up new vendors in the system with all required documentation.
• Communicate closely with the sales team, production, machining, and engineering departments to keep them updated with any changes to delivery dates.
