Job descriptionHigh School Diploma or GED required Enrollment in or completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship program One year of electrical experience in an industrial setting preferred Current and valid driver’s license Ability to take and pass a pre-employment drug screening Ability to take and pass a fit-for-duty examination Basic knowledge of electrical systems and equipment Basic knowledge on the use of power tools, electrical equipment, and construction equipment Ability to work safely and recognize potential hazards Ability to prioritize work or assignments to complete projects on time Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to work in a team environment Ability to receive and follow directions Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another Ability to operate job related tools Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and / or fingers Work that includes moving and / or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help
JOB SUMMARY
The Electrical Apprentice assists the electrician in installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machines and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists Journeyman with installation, maintenance, and repair tasks
- Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and electrical code.
- Gather tools and supplies to be used at the work site.
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using ruler and hand tools.
- Assist in connecting wiring and in troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
