Volkert is searching for an experienced CEI Inspector with relevant industry certifications to join Midwest Construction Services Group in Carbondale, IL or Collinsville, IL .

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a High School Diploma or equivalent.

The salary range for this position is $24 - $35 per hour.

As a CEI Inspector, work is primarily routine and standardized inspection work which may include manual or electronic calculations and computations. You will perform independent inspection and documentation of construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract. Guidance to accomplish assignments is provided by higher level Inspectors, Project Engineers or Resident Engineers.

What you’ll be doing :

• Making and checking engineering computations
• Documenting / Inspecting construction work
• Materials testing in the field
• Inspection of truck load tickets for aggregate, asphalt, or concrete
• Writing daily inspection reports, performing verification testing, and documenting test results and observations
• Performing SWPPP inspections
• Assisting in all types of record keeping and field measurements, as needed
• Work is performed under the general supervision of the Resident Engineer and / or Construction Engineering and Inspection Manager
