Quality Lab Manager

The following position is open in Frankfort Kentucky, United States.

Manages internal team of chemists and technicians to ensure all liquid standards are achieved

Member of a team leading the largest manufacturing plant within the Beam Suntory network

Role Responsibilities

(This position reports directly to the Sr. Quality Manager)

This position will be responsible for the management and execution of quality assurance / control programs and systems within the Frankfort Quality Laboratory.

Ensuring all liquid analysis from receipt of materials to finished products adhere to the established quality and regulatory standards

Position Responsibilities

Manage Quality Laboratory Chemists and Technicians

Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of all lab practices

Ensure compliance with regulatory and Global Quality requirements

Ensure tests and procedures are understood and properly carried out

Ensure quality lab procedures, work instructions and associated documentation are properly developed, reviewed, implemented and updated

Reviews all laboratory equipment needs and responsible for overseeing all lab equipment maintenance / calibration are carried out to ensure we are meeting our compliance to standards

Perform sensory and analytical evaluations of products

Promote the ownership of quality to the employees performing quality activities

Direct, monitor and control of the laboratory budget

Promote Quality, Food Safety, Environmental and Safety standards and performance improvement throughout the organization

Support Diversity & Inclusion initiatives through individual and departmental goals and objectives

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience :

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, food science, biology, or related field

Demonstrated leadership skills, including previous experience in a management or supervisory role leading people

Minimum of 5 years applicable laboratory experience within the last 10 years

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong organization and prioritization skills along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Excellent working knowledge of the TTB regulations

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with company personnel at all levels of management with demonstrated leadership

Experience using Windows operating systems

Experience with SAP software preferred

Must be willing and able to taste alcoholic beverages Sensory experience preferred
