Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager
Seeking a skilled safety professional to support safety programs at our Cambridge MA Laboratories. This position will lead the contractor safety programs for site facilities services, lab services and construction projects. This role will also own key site safety programs and support laboratory safety for

- Review safe permits to work and job hazard analysis submitted by contractors to ensure adherence to
- contractor safety requirements
- Partner with on-site service providers to improve contractor safety programs and culture
- Foster a culture of learning and psychological safety by building trust during routine facility walkthroughs and daily interactions
- Establish safe work procedures for hazardous work
- Provide expertise for several EHS programs including lock out tag out (LOTO), confined space entry, work at height, hot work and machine guarding
- Serve as EHS point of contact for key Process Development laboratories
- Partner with
- staff and contractors to correct inspection findings
- Respond to the scene in the event of on-site incidents and emergencies to ensure safety and environmental compliance
- Conduct thorough incident investigations and identify robust corrective actions
- Analyze incident and observation trends to identify and control new hazards with a focus on Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention
- Conduct in person contractor safety training
- Conduct EHS assessments for new or changing laboratory activities
- Attend lab safety inspections as a subject matter expert
- Lead or participate in safety related meetings including site safety committee, contractor safety team and EHS Leadership Governance
- Analyze metrics and establish quarterly action plans to drive continuous improvement
- Conduct program maturity assessments and audits to drive action and continuous improvement
- Develop written EHS SOPs and guidance documents as needed
Basic Qualifications :
Doctorate degree ORMaster's degree and 3 years of Operations or Manufacturing experience OrBachelor's degree and 5 years of Operations or Manufacturing experience OrAssociate's degree and 10 years of Operations or Manufacturing experience OrHigh school diploma / GED and 12 years of Operations or Manufacturing experiencePreferred Qualifications
5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry implementing industrial safety programsCertified Safety Professional (CSP)Risk evaluation and risk assessment experienceStrong construction and contractor safety experienceDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence managementStrong presentation skillsAction oriented, self-starting, program development and project managementStrong technical writing skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems
