Stockroom Materials Handler

The Stockroom Materials Handler is primarily responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products to the shop floor. Key responsibilities include consolidating requests for back orders or missing items from job carts, identifying and tracking frequency of outages / shortages, analyzing issues and opportunities through the use of pareto data and recommending potential point of use storage items, managing Kanban levels and alerting / recommending adjustments based on replenishment levels, auditing VMI levels and identifying issues, materials handling of enclosure carts, performing data collection and problem solving, processing and replenishing back orders, assisting in cycle counts, using computer to enter records, helping maintain clean and orderly warehouse, driving material cost savings, processing inventory turns / obsolete inventory, following workflow processes and standard work instructions, problem solving and communicating effectively with work team, contributing ideas for continuous improvement of workflow and processes, following all safety guidelines and procedures, and performing other duties as assigned.

Other experience and qualifications include a minimum requirement of high school diploma and 3-5 plus years of prior stockroom experience, knowledge of inventory control software and order processing systems, proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook, forklift certification or ability to become forklift certified, working knowledge of basic manufacturing parts and processes, interpersonal, leadership, and technical skills, ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, ability to write simple correspondence, ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and ability to maintain self-motivation.
