J&L Construction, LLC is looking to extend our team with a position for a full-time Bookkeeper. At J&L Construction, we take great pride in our work and people. The perfect candidate will be highly motivated, energetic, and a multitasker looking to grow their skillset.
Key Responsibilities :
- Record daily financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero).
- Maintain and reconcile bank, credit card, and fuel accounts.
- Process accounts payable, including reviewing vendor invoices, validating purchase orders, and matching packing slips.
- Track and manage subcontractor payments and lien waivers .
- Process accounts receivable, generate progress billings (AIA billing if applicable), and track retention.
- Assist in payroll processing, including union / non-union reporting, certified payroll, and prevailing wage documentation (if required).
- Track and categorize expenses, receipts, and vendor payments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Generate financial reports such as profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
- Prepare and file required compliance documents.
- Maintain organized records and support auditors or CPA when needed.
- Collaborate with management to provide financial insights or budget tracking.
Qualifications :
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role.Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP preferred).Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).High attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial data.
