Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) Engineer

Overview

Core4ce is seeking a Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) Engineer responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server clusters and infrastructure critical for hosting SQL services for customer-managed databases. This role ensures secure, compliant, and high-performing database services that align with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) mission.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server clusters to support enterprise applications.
• Perform queries, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on hosted customer databases.
• Configure and deliver DBaaS offerings per Service Level Agreements (SLA), including :
• Windows and Microsoft SQL server / cluster management
• Microsoft SQL instance management with role-based access control
• Monitoring using RedGate SQL Monitor
• Microsoft SQL licensing management
• Encryption of hosted data
• Conduct performance tuning to optimize database availability and speed.
• Manage database recovery and restoration as needed to support business continuity.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, and backup / storage teams to align services with mission requirements.
