Bus Driver Job Description

Key duties include conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, obey all traffic laws, assisting passengers (including those with disabilities), and maintaining the cleanliness of the bus.

Responsibilities

• Transportation : Safely pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations and times.
• Safety : Enforce safety rules for passengers, assist those needing help getting on and off, and perform pre- and post-trip vehicle safety inspections.
• Scheduling : Follow assigned routes and adhere to strict time schedules.
• Communication : Communicate with dispatchers regarding delays, accidents, or other issues.
• Maintenance : Perform basic vehicle checks (e.g., fluid levels, tires, lights) and report any mechanical problems to the service manager.
• Cleanliness : Keep the bus clean and sanitary.

Compensation

Regular Route Drivers start at $23,725.98 annually (AM & PM route)

Substitute Route Drivers : $43.50 per Route or $87.00 per day

Activity Trip Drivers : $15.90 per hour (paid 4-hour minimum)
