Patient Accounts Representative

The Patient Accounts is the primary contact with patients regarding their accounts with the practice. This includes managing patient payments, payment plans and self-pay encounters. The Patient Accounts representative is also the primary liaison with the Allergy Department for immunotherapy billing policy compliance with respect to vials as well as payments for self pay allergy therapy. The patient accounts representative will also be a resource for the hearing aid program by handling phone calls and payments related to these charges. The patient accounts representative is also responsible for balancing the patient monies accepted by the front desk daily.

This position is a hybrid position.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Responsible for daily balancing of cash and checks from patient encounters and electronically depositing these into the bank.
• Primary person to take SLIT (self-pay) payments for the Allergy Department.
• Payment posting for patient payments received through the mail.
• Generate account statements for patients; answer patient questions regarding their account.
• Create payment plans for patients based on practice criteria.
• Manage patient account credits and refunds.
• Contact patients through email, written correspondence, and phone to inform them of overdue balances.
• Posting unapplied payments to the patient charges.
• Utilizing reports to ensure the correct insurance is on the claim prior to processing.

Requirements

COMPENSATION : The compensation range for this position is $18 to $23. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
