American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU assignment requiring a current CA RN license, Cerner experience, and ACLS / BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in a 32-bed ICU within an acute care hospital settingNurse-to-patient ratio is 2 : 112-hour night shifts with an every other weekend requirementFirst to float to Telemetry and any ED ICU / Tele holdsUnit features high acuity cases including neuro, cardiac, PCI, sepsis, ETOH, stroke, TBI, and patients requiring Camino ICP monitoringRNs are responsible for reading and interpreting their own cardiac monitor strips as there are no monitor techsDrips include pressors, antiarrhythmics, and sedation; vents are managedCerner is the EMR and prior Cerner experience is requiredCharge nurse available without a patient assignment; resource RN may take a patientCandidates must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity, within the past yearRNs must pass facility competency assessments, including a Relias Dysrhythmia exam and skills test on sterile techniques during orientationWeekend and holiday shifts are rotated with core staffScrub color for RNs is navy blue, no acrylic nails or gel polish allowed during assignmentFloor-specific orientation includes 8 hours with ICU educator and 16 hours with a preceptorRespiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24 / 7First-time travelers will be considered\n \n

Active CA RN license required at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years recent ICU experience required; 3 years preferredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications are required; CCRN preferredCerner EMR experience is requiredAbility to read and interpret cardiac monitor stripsTwo professional references : one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years\n
