Resort Pool Technician

The Resort Pool Technician ensures all pools, spas, and water features are safe, clean, and guest-ready at all times. This role manages water chemistry, mechanical systems, cleaning, and complianceminimizing downtime and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Test and balance water (pH, free / total chlorine or bromine, alkalinity, calcium hardness, CYA); maintain daily logs and correct variances.
- Monitor / adjust ORP & pH controllers; maintain chemical feeders, salt systems, UV / ozone (as applicable).
- Execute contamination response and closures per state / local code and Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC).
- Ensure compliance with health codes, OSHA, SDS / chemical labeling, PPE, and VGB anti-entrapment requirements; maintain safety signage and rescue equipment.
Mechanical Systems & Preventive Maintenance :
Operate and service pumps, heaters / heat pumps, filters (sand / DE / cartridge), valves, strainers, and backwash systems.Perform PMs, troubleshoot failures, and coordinate vendor service for major repairs; keep CMMS work orders up to date.Manage inventory and secure storage of chemicals; receive and stage deliveries safely.Cleaning & Presentation :
Vacuum, brush, net, and tile-line clean pools / spas; skim and empty baskets; keep decks, drains, and equipment rooms clean and orderly.Inspect ladders, rails, grates, skimmers, and fittings; repair / replace as needed.Guest Service & Communication :
Respond promptly to guest / operations requests; communicate closures / re-openings to Spa, Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Security.Support special events and seasonal openings / refresh projects.Emergency & Safety :
Follow lockout / tagout; respond to chemical spills, leaks, and equipment failures; escalate appropriately.Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; trade / technical school preferred.2+ years commercial pool / spa operations (hotel / resort or club preferred).CPO (Certified Pool Operator) or AFO required or obtained within 90 days of hire.Working knowledge of water chemistry, controllers, pumps, heaters, and filtration.Basic plumbing / electrical troubleshooting; ability to read schematics and MSDS / SDS.Proficient with CMMS and basic Microsoft 365; valid drivers license.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Strong safety mindset; consistent, accurate recordkeeping.Organized and proactive with excellent time management.Clear communicator; collaborates well across departments.Math competency for chemical calculations and dilution rates.Physical Requirements :
Work outdoors in heat / humidity; frequent standing, bending, kneeling.Lift / push / pull 50+ lbs; climb ladders; handle chemicals with PPE.Ability to work near water and around mechanical equipment.Success Metrics (KPIs) :

The compensation for this position is $17.00 / Hr. - $19.00 / Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
